President Trump is not happy with Congressman Massie, who has long said he's been targetted for defeat by the Israel lobby in Congress. Massie's now been targeted for defeat by the President of the United States.
President Trump's Truth Social post is worth reading. To me, it's cringe-inducing and juvenile. I'm going to send $15 to the "Re-Elect Massie Campaign" on anti-bullying principles.
Massie is losing me. I live close to his district and have seen him speak in the past. I like him. I like his technological background. I respect him.
But he is spitting into the wind. Trump can be offensive, and manage to accomplish something as a result. Massie is offensive and accomplishes nothing as a result. I stand by Massie's principles and intelligence. But he has no pragmatic ability to be effective.
Bill! Totally agree that mRNA still needs to be the focus here, but regarding Iran using its nuclear weapons, I just posted how — now this is crazy — but nukes are solely an “appropriate threat” when needed to scare the world.
Didn’t find any weapons last week looked towards there, plus, haven’t seen any effect of “those” bombs on earth.
Maybe we should remember that Iraq was invaded because it didn't have WMDs.
Although a Brit, I seem to recall that we have been threatening to pursue regime change (i.e. nick Iran's resources after installing a compliant leader) for decades.
And I'm not particularly impressed by Middle Eastern religions but - it is none of my business unless it intrudes upon us. (Ironically, we encouraged such exotica to live with us - not necessarily to our overall advantage)
"Maybe we should remember that Iraq was invaded because it didn't have WMDs."
That's THE lesson. Iran gets it too. Until there is "regime change," Iran knows it will continue to be ENEMY No. 1 for Israel and the American Neo-cons.
Iran is Enemy No. 1 (instead of Russia or China) because Iran does NOT have nuclear weapons. Iran is an enemy America and Israel CAN fight and that the MIC can use to get endless orders.
For this reason, I don't think Iran is going to stop trying to get nuclear weapons, just like North Korea didn't stop trying.
For now, it looks like President Trump's gambit might have worked and everyone can crow "Mission Accomplished." But if this is the new narrative (and it is for now), it's probably as bogus as when sailors hung that banner on the aircraft carrier W. Bush visited after the tanks rolled into Baghdad.
The "tell" with that victory celebration is that the people of Iraq were NOT lined up by the side of the road, throwing roses to our troops and thanking us for liberating them.
Still, I'm relieved another WWIII scare might have been averted - until the next one. The neo-cons are about as committed to their cause as Big Pharma and the Vaccine Complex is to their cause.
Saw a TV programme recently on US troops who'd been deployed to Iraq, having been told they were liberating the citizens. They expected gratitude but were soon met with resistance and hostility. That disillusionment and then exhaustion, plus violence, led many to suffer PTSD. Extraordinarily sad as the vets had to cope with their own fragility and knowledge that they were not heroes but invaders.
Yes, let's hope major conflicts can be averted indefinitely!
It's funny I remember that particular column, but I do.
I was a young political science student at the time and thought Mutually Assured Destruction is going to keep North Korea from using any nukes.
Some people say a rogue nation can get nukes and then secretly give them to other nations or terrorists, which I guess, could happen. But even if Iran used that ploy, everyone would know where the nukes came from or would blame Iran - which would still be assured of their nation being destroyed.
Regarding to possible nuclear conflicts, the worry is one nation becoming convinced another nuclear nation is getting ready to use nukes on them - so they fire their's off first.
The other worry (to me) is a nation that is getting ready to lose a war and, as a last resort, they use their emergency nukes.
This scenario might actually apply to Israel if it started to feel it was at risk of losing a war - like, maybe, a war of attrition with Iran?
So far, the world's crazy rulers haven't been THAT crazy, but every new war makes you a tad nervous.
Truly, you do not understand Islam. We are the "kafirs" my friend. In the eyes of Islam, we, in the West, do not deserve to live if we -- as a NATION of The United States -- will not become followers of Mohammed's Allah. The "narrative" that the followers of Islam would not blow us to smithereens because they'd blow themselves up at the same time is naive. We've had first-person proof for decades with suicide bombers. Martyrdom is an honor in their world. What a post-mortem honor it would be to Allah for his followers to destroy the West completely, even if they destroy all of Iran! Islam has already taken over nations and cities for their cause. Look what it has done to Iran's population in the last 50 years. Look at Lebanon. Dearborn, Michigan. Now, they're after places in Texas. Islam is well on its way to destroying all of Europe at this very moment. Please read Mark Steyn's 2008 book, "America Alone." And please visit Bill Warner's site: https://politicalislam.com/. Bill is an author and expert on Islam, and the key to his writings is that he never gives his opinion; he only states what is in Islamic doctrine itself. Imagine THAT!
Perhaps your head has been in one subject for too long -- everything is connected to one thing: depopulation and the destruction of the world as we know it. Above all, read The Bible with a willingness to gain discernment concerning all things in this life, including the motivation of Islam, and you'll find it. Ask yourself: "Who would really want to destroy the world?"
Keep working. Keep investigating. Keep writing. Keep sharing. With respect, I will keep reading.

You are correct as usual Bill. Unfortunately, your message is only reaching those who already agree with you. You have been allowed freedom of speech, for now, but not freedom of reach.
Bill, you need to understand Islamic eschatology, and specifically Shia eschatology. Islam is not like Christianity. Firstly, Islam is not merely a religion. It's a total life system that encompasses religion, politics, finance, etc. Everything in life is subject to the diktats of Islam and Quran. Another huge difference is that Islam doesn't seek to "make converts" in the "show them you're nice and convince them to join" sense (as per Christianity), though that surely happens. Historically, Islam was spread by the sword (invasion by Islamic armies who said "convert or die"). More specifically, Shia eschatology believes that destroying Israel will trigger the return of the Mahdi, who will be an Islamic savior of sorts. The Mahdi conquer the rest of the world, rule it, and will give all the infidels a choice: submit to Islam or die. I do agree with you that the popular narrative is wrong. This is not merely a case of "they hate our way of life," though there is some truth to that insofar as our "way of life" is not Islamic. But this is deeper than that. Iran would most definitely use a bomb and would not be in any way concerned about the negative optics for the purpose of recruiting new converts.
Here is an update on the above - will Iran use nuclear weapons against America now is the question to be asked: Details revealed about the U.S. strikes on Iran as a truce held
A classified U.S. report found that the strikes on three of Iran’s nuclear sites set its capability back by only a few months, as a cease-fire between Israel and Iran appeared to be holding yesterday. Here’s the latest news.
The preliminary report showed that the bombing had sealed off the entrances to two of the facilities but had not collapsed their underground buildings, officials familiar with the details said. The findings suggest that President Trump’s statement that Iran’s nuclear sites were obliterated was overstated. A White House spokeswoman called the classified assessment “flat-out wrong.”
The details of the cease-fire remain unclear. Israel’s military lifted emergency restrictions imposed during the conflict, and Iran’s president hailed “the end of a 12-day war that was imposed on the Iranian people” in an address to the nation.
New York Times
The United States’ military strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities have achieved the exact opposite of their intended goal, according to Russia’s former president Dmitry Medvedev. Instead of crippling Tehran’s nuclear ambitions, the attacks have reportedly emboldened Iran and triggered a dangerous new phase in global geopolitics—one where multiple nations are now prepared to arm the Islamic Republic with nuclear warheads. This shocking revelation exposes the catastrophic miscalculations of the Trump administration, which, under pressure from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, abandoned diplomatic negotiations and launched a reckless military offensive. The opposite of what Trump claimed to want is occurring. Iran will likely be resupplied with nuclear warheads and capabilities.
Key points:
Russia’s Dmitry Medvedev claims U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites have backfired, pushing Tehran closer to weaponization.
Multiple nations allegedly stand ready to supply Iran with nuclear warheads, escalating global instability.
Western media will continue to portray Iran as having no allies, but this is nothing but propaganda.
Netanyahu’s long-standing campaign to drag the U.S. into war with Iran succeeded, undermining diplomacy.
Iran had previously agreed to stringent nuclear inspections and enrichment limits before Trump abruptly reversed course.
The US attack violates international law and risks plunging the Middle East into a wider conflict.
Iran will be emboldened after the airstrikes, as other nations come to defend them.
Netanyahu’s trap springs shut
For decades, Netanyahu has sought to embroil the U.S. in a direct confrontation with Iran, framing Tehran as an existential threat to Israel. His influence over Trump proved decisive. Just months into Trump’s second term, the U.S. abandoned promising nuclear talks—where Iran had agreed to maximum transparency, reduced uranium enrichment, and full cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)—and instead launched airstrikes on key nuclear facilities in Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow.
An informed Iranian source revealed that negotiations between Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had reached a tentative agreement. “The deal was as follows: Iran would accept maximum nuclear inspections… convert or export its stockpile of 60% enriched uranium… halt high-level enrichment… and resolve all technical ambiguities with the IAEA,” the source said. In return, the U.S. would lift nuclear-related sanctions.
But after a call between Netanyahu and Trump, Washington abruptly demanded Iran completely abandon its peaceful nuclear program—a nonstarter that sabotaged diplomacy. Two days before the next round of talks, Israel attacked Iran, forcing Trump’s hand. “This was Israel’s trap—designed to drag the U.S. into war,” the source said.
A dangerous new nuclear reality
Medvedev’s warning that nations are now prepared to supply Iran with nuclear warheads marks a terrifying escalation. Russia, a key Iranian ally, has already condemned the U.S. strikes as “irresponsible” and a violation of international law. Meanwhile, Tehran—which has no active nuclear weapons program, according to the IAEA—may now reconsider its commitment to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
“Countries like North Korea, India, Pakistan, and Israel rejected the NPT and developed nukes—yet they remain immune from attack,” said Trita Parsi of the Quincy Institute. “Iran has learned the hard way that disarmament invites aggression.”
Trump’s decision to strike Iran also exposes the hypocrisy of U.S. nonproliferation policy. Israel, the Middle East’s sole nuclear power with an estimated 400 warheads, has never faced consequences for its arsenal. Meanwhile, Iran—subject to the most intrusive inspections in history—was bombed despite no evidence of weaponization.
The consequences of this reckless escalation are dire. Iran, now more unified under its leadership, may accelerate its nuclear efforts. Russia and other nations could further embolden Iran by supplying advanced weaponry. And the U.S., having violated the UN Charter, faces global condemnation, especially if they push for regime change and destabilization of Iran.

He knows when to make a performative or actual statement to get people’s attention, but leave the our enemies a way out and an option for cooperation (as well as our domestic enemies, if only they were rational (which they apparently are not).
I think Iran probably does have nukes. Could be wrong, but it makes sense they would. I'm more worried about a series of false flags in the US, sponsored by Israel.
