A striking number of people became sick with Covid symptoms before official Covid. This article show how personal observations (aka anecdotes) should carry much greater weight.
Quick edit: I changed out the picture as my wife found a photo of CHHS that didn't include current students. I probably shouldn't have run a photo with current students.
Carrie taught at this school, my alma mater, for several years, including the Covid year of 2020. There were large numbers of students and teachers who became sick at this school (and schools throughout Alabama and America) but all these illnesses happened weeks or months BEFORE official Covid.
I don't know why it's so controversial or taboo to suggest that Covid could have begun to spread a few weeks or months before the experts said it did.
Excellent article and comments. What this needs to spice things up are anecdotes from the southern hemisphere where flu and cold season runs May to October, during their winter months. Did anyone complain about covid symptoms eg in Australia or NZ during October-December? Or countries like Singapore and Malaysia closer to the equator where they don't have a winter as such. I was in the northern hemisphere and got sick October 28, 2019 which I described as a really weird and intense cold that lasted two full days and nights and then just disappeared. I was in a hotel all that month and everyone seemed to get sick from mid October.
Thanks Bill - I think this work is very valuable, and maybe your frustration (nobody talking about this) indicates you are "over the target zone"... Over past five years I have seen loads of bits of evidence suggesting covid was already all over the world by at least autumn (if not summer) 2019. If so, that rather undermines the "wuhan outbreak" focus, not to mention the validity of global lockdowns and all the other destruction.
This also suggests the recent CCP position - that covid started in USA - is at a minimum plausible, and just as plausible as the assertion that covid started in china... I don't think it should surprise us if it turns out it did start in USA (or originate from American labs)
My take on this is that we will likely never get down to bottom of Covid origins other than that multiple countries were likely involved. China was the one to push the West's over reaction by the seemingly faked Chinese video propaganda leaked to the west in order to stoke fear and panic (which it did). It appears we lived through Kabuki theater on a global scale.
Bill, we do need to resolve who was in collusion to manipulate these circumstances to get all existing medical treatments denied. We must also find out what year the corona virus genetic vaccines were under development—they sure as certain did not start after Pres Trump/Pence's team okayed Warp Speed. This is essential to find out when these genetic injections were created to better determine start dates for the covid global illness and its spread dynamics.
I suspect they observed choking bronchial spasms could kill people within minutes, and overreacted instead of passing out peppermint oil and triamcinolone acetonide spray.
Thanks for the link. In a recent, even longer article, I wrote about the athletes who got sick at the World Military Games in Wuhan. Mr. Unz thinks the virus might have been intentionally seeded at those games.
There were definitely large numbers of sick people who attended those games. Something was contagious as lots of people that were around each other got sick at the same time.
A number of people, including myself, were sick at my workplace just before the shutdowns occured around Christmas time. This was a restaurant located inside an airport and it never reopened.
I, too, was one of those who was sick as a dog around Christmastime of 2019, although I didn't miss work because our office is "closed" that week. So when COVID "started" going around in the spring of 2020 I wasn't too worried because I had gone through most of those symptoms and figured - I guess rightfully so - that I had built up an immunity to it.
Thanks for sharing this "anecdote," Michael. I could have noted that neither myself or my two children ever got "sick" after we had presumed/possible Covid in January 2020.
I will say I think I did get a variant later on because my boss was sick, but it was no worse than a bad cold. Never did get the jab because I saw how bad it affected my MIL.
Bill: i was sick in Nov 2019 with what i think was Covid. Had trouble breathing but there was no panic. Just felt like it was some flu and i recovered after a week. I tested positive for antibodies in 2020 but got the Johnson and Johnson covid vac which set off health problems. The whole gaslighting and manufactured panic around covid made it worse for people when they got covid after March 2020.
Yes i did test positive for antibodies before i got the covid vax but was advised to get it anyway. And then the health problems it caused put me in hospital for 2 surgeries (long story) and i needed a transfusion after 2nd surgery and no doubt got vaccinated blood. But i have only had that one Covid vac in arm. And last time i saw my dr for a 6 month check, she said “no vaccines” and i said “no vaccines”. No more covid, flu or pneumonia vaccines for me (and i am a senior citizen)
One of my sons was severely sick in November 2019 and one of the neighborhood elementary schools actually closed for week in that same month because so many students were sick.
I think i had a couple of Virginia schools in my long story about school closings. I wonder if that article mentioned this school? I worked very hard on that story, but I'm certain I must have missed many schools or school systems that also closed due to illness.
This is a particularly interesting article. I live in Ireland. Several people I knew became very ill in November and December 2019 and January 2020 with what our doctors were calling "a flu that isn't the flu". The other key characteristic of this "not a flu" was that even young people, including nurses in our local hospital, were struggling to recover for weeks to from it.
I should do a story on the "different" or odd symptoms of Covid compared to other ILI or "flu-like' illnesses. The differences are subtle, but you can identify some. Symptoms lasting longer or not being able to completely or quickly shake these symptoms is pretty common.
In my sickness, my cough was much more violent. I didn't have great congestion. My shortness of breath and fatigue was much worse than previous respiratory illnesses I'd had. And my cough did linger.
I also had loss of a sense of taste for a fairly long time, but I think this might be pretty common to other ILI.
If I had Covid, it was pretty rough. As noted in my article, I went from "not sick" to "very sick" in about six hours.
Very well written and researched. Although the no-virus lobby make interesting claims about the cell culture they have come up with no satisfactory alternative hypothesis. There certainly was a transmissible 'something, in late 10-20 that made many people very sick including young healthy folks that wouldn't have got into respiratory distress with flu.
Personally I find the published nucleic acid sequences, morphology of spike protein and correlation of sickness with positive PCR convincing enough to believe the accepted theory.
As for contagion, I think there is mass early multi focal exposure-those that are immune don't get sick and variable incubation periods give san illusion of point to point transmission.
I remain disappointed that all efforts to understand why some of us were sick in Fall 2019 (and I was) no one considers environmental agents like herbicides (e.g. Roundup) and electronics (e.g., EMF from cell phone towers).

I think stitching your observations together with others...a timeline with the shutdown of the WIV lab in Wuhan, the Fauci memo with its false consensus, the world military games held in China, the disapora of sick citizens around the world, how the severity of infection seemed to decline over time, the introduction of "COvID tests" and the resulting frenzy of contact tracing and exploding numbers of "asymptomatic infected," all of those known knowns that help explain the waves of cause for which you have captured effects.
I had the "virus" in early fall 2019, and yes I believe they are real, in Sept./Oct. It was fierce, put me down for 17 days. I had it again in early spring, and it lasted two days. They say that as the virus meets the world it gradually loses its punch...
Thanks. Early fall. I've found plenty of people who say/think the same thing. One subscriber to the NY Times said the same thing in a post in late April 2020. This person - "Shane" from Marin, Co. California - said he felt like he was going to die. He said he was sick in the "fall of 2019" after he returned from a trip to the MidEast. In his post, he said he got TWO (!) positive antibody tests and he named the labs where he got his positive tests.
Why didn't the NY Times at least contact this man? The newspaper must have had his address and email address since he was a paid subscriber.
I emailed the Times' tip line four times and copied and pasted Shane's remarks.
This confirms to me that anything that might "confirm" early spread is taboo or thermo-nuclear.
I think several people KNEW this virus was spreading and large numbers of people were becoming sick because of it.
Early spread is more thermo-nuclear than you might think at first blush.
Put it this way: If this wasn't a thermo-nuclear subject, all these possible cases would have been quickly and thoroughly investigated.
Look at what they don't investigate. Right on. Like the magician, manipulating your attention. Beware how the reporting moves your focus toward THIS and way from THAT. What is THAT anyways.....
Judy Mikovits reported that it was spreading in Northern California much earlier than elsewhere. Some people don't listen to what she has to say because she believes in viruses which makes her to be not accepted in their cult. Sadly she has been warning about this since before 2009 even. She is quoted very early in the pandemic, perhaps spring or summer of 2020 as having said "COVID is premeditated murder of ten million Americans who were already injured from previous vaccines". People have ignored sick individuals, have ignored clusters of sick individuals, and have ignored clusters of disease epidemics. The public health apparatus did not warn them of these earlier outbreaks and even covered up these outbreaks.
This decades long cover up has been well documented. It should be self evident at this point that a conglomerate of for profit testing and treating businesses would not be shouting fire until they had all of their fire extinguisher manufactured and tested and licensed for sales if you catch my drift... I mean if your one of those individuals disposed to believing in things catching and being caught anyway.
My husband was sick in November of 2019 here in South Carolina. He thought later he probably had Covid before it became a “thing”. He worked in Huntsville during the week and commuted home on the weekends.
I've also run very long stories of quotes I've found in Reader Comments sections (stories from people who think they had early Covid).
One of the most intriguing anecdotes was from a man who I think was working in North Carolina but was from South Carolina. He became very sick, I think in November or December 2019. What makes his testimonial so intriguing is that he told his doctor he thought he'd had early Covid. This doctor must have reported this to state public health officials because this man - via an email to me - said he later got a call from someone at his state's health agency asking him about his early illness.
That's the first, maybe the only example, I've found that some public health agency might have been investigating "early spread." I believe this man. This state public health agency was doing some type of early spread investigation. However, this has never been revealed in the press. They kept this investigation under wraps.
Caveat: Officials in Washington state also did a brief investigation into possible early cases after two people tested positive for antibodies in late April 2020. Those people had been sick in December 2019.
The local and state health agencies later dropped the investigation and never considered these two cases as "confirmed" Covid. The story I read in the Seattle Times said there were 65 (!) other possible early cases, but the agency didn't have the resources to investigate these cases. (They were busy doing "contact tracing" investigations of people who had "tested positive" in April and May 2020!)
The CDC has never investigated any possible early cases, which is a giant "tell" to me.
Sorry hit enter before I was finished. I never caught it from him even though I am the one with lung issues. He seldom gets sick but he was very sick. I am a retired ICU RN and thought he had the flu.
Thanks for sharing, Kathie. I wish I had a dime for every "early spread" anecdote I've read.
When enough people say or think the same thing, these anecdotes should be given serious attention IMO.
I also note you say this was "like nothing they had ever had before." That's a very common sentiment/testimonial - that should be considered signfificant.
Thank you for your writing Bill, your hypothesis indeed sounds more plausible than “the experts”. What else is new?
Regarding your wife and her not getting sick at the same time as you and the kids, I’m curious if she is a smoker. If not, no worries and good for her, but if she is I suggest you check out Dr Bryan Ardis from Texas and what he has to say about nicotine and Covid.
No, she's not a smoker. I can't remember, I wonder if she might have been sick at some earlier point. Maybe she already had natural immunity by late January?
She did later test positive for Covid althoug her "symptoms" were super vague and almost non-existent. She didn't even have a cough or fever. She didn't fit my definition of "sick."
She unquestionably had natural immunity. Pro'ly "caught" it from one or more of those sick HS students. Plenty of stories like that. Makes perfect sense. Just enough but not too much of the "bug" got to her.
My 86 y/o mother came down with a flu like illness in late Nov 2019 in central Illinois. She said she has never felt that kind of sick before in her life. She is as tough as a barn and never goes to the doc for the usual winter time illnesses. WE took her to the doc in a box where she was tested for flu and strep, both negative. The doctor at the time said that she had never seen anything like it in her career. Mom was having a hard time breathing so they gave her some kind of nebulized treatments to do at home.
Edited to add: It took her a week to get over the worst of it, but had lingering breathlessness for a good two months after. She has never fully recovered her sense of smell and taste, but everything else is fine for her
I think people thought back to when they had sniffles, late 2019 and early 2020 and made up their minds they were marked by the ‘Pandemic of the Century.’

We all were sick in November 2019 at Thanksgiving with flu-like, bronchitis-like symptoms. We all still went to Thanksgiving dinner. We always went anywhere when we were sick (work, holiday parties, birthday parties, seriously everywhere!!). But, I always get sick around Thanksgiving with bronchitis that lasts generally til Christmas, then comes back in January. One member of the family actually went to an urgent care & everyone there had similar symptoms. Now if you sneeze or clear your throat at the grocery store, everyone glares at you.
The Rich and Super Rich fearing their loss of wealth and power to the multitudes have created an American patented Covid virus in 2013, America owns Covid, made with DARPA's help and vaccine weapons from 2016 to injure and destroy the multitude, while saving some to be made into Super Soldiers by genetic design, which ultimately might cause the extermination of our species off this planet and deliver upon the Rich and Super Rich, that which they fear most, the loss of everything they hold dear, including their lives, meanwhile the bonkers crowd, want to cool our planet from the sun's rays by cooling the planet by mechanical means which might bring in the next ice age and kill all, irrespective of where we happen to be living.

The Chinese at the time claimed that the US military, intentionally released covid at the games, in order to blame China.
At the time, I dismissed it as the usual BAT SHIT CRAZY (ho ho) CCP propaganda.
Given all that has occurred / been exposed since then, I'm not so sure the CCP weren't telling the truth.
A number of people, including myself, were sick at my workplace just before the shutdowns occured around Christmas time. This was a restaurant located inside an airport and it never reopened.

I've made a pretty big deal out of people who had definite Covid symptoms before February 2020 and later tested positive via an antibody test.
I'm interested in people who tested positive before they got a vaccine as the vaccines produce antibodies.
Yes i did test positive for antibodies before i got the covid vax but was advised to get it anyway. Tx I think you had covid in nov 2019 based on symptoms and positive antibody test. You know when you got your positive antibody test?
Just looked up date. The antibody test was in 2021 after i got the covid vax.

As I recall, Winter 2019 saw a mild burden of deaths. The dying didn’t start until the WHO said we could start dying.
I think people thought back to when they had sniffles, late 2019 and early 2020 and made up their minds they were marked by the ‘Pandemic of the Century.’
Those choking to death weren't counted? Died of "heart attack" or "unknown" causes?
I remember when 25 hanging deaths were originally reported as Covid deaths in 2020. Pity the poor soul who died who didn’t die of Rock Star Virus.
How did this happen before "PCR tests" were available? Were frozen samples "tested"? Hanging is just another irrelevant "symptom" of CoViD! It can cause choking and asphyxia, doncha know?
My pastor’s wife was sick in November 2019 with all the symptoms we associate with COVID: no taste or smell, exhaustion, etc.
She’s quite thin, so no real complications, but I think it was.
We all were sick in November 2019 at Thanksgiving with flu-like, bronchitis-like symptoms. We all still went to Thanksgiving dinner.
Thanks America
