Off topic, but regarding my line about how I might be hitting too close to key targets ... I've now gotten several "disputes" about cancelled subscriptions. People say they cancelled their subscription and were still charged. I don't know if this is true or not. All I know is I have nothing to do with when someone cancels a subscription and whether they are charged or not. I don't make "subscription cancellation decisions." Substack or Stripe (the payment processor handles all that). But I just lost my "dispute." So $50 will be taken from my checking account, plus I have to pay a $15 dispute fee - so they got me for $65.

Text:

PNC Bank, National Association - Consumer Credit decided in their customer’s favor for the $50 USD dispute that was started on March 26, 2024. The dispute was created because the customer said the transaction was fraudulent.

Love your writing, all of it. I chose now to sub as a way to offset your dispute charges.

I also used the gift option to another of my email accounts to ensure you also get the additional sub money from me.

Keep writing!

I tried to 'like' this comment, it doesn't show. This is an issue I 'think' I got to Substack tech support, last week sometime, yet which I've never heard back on.

Also find it infuriatingly difficult to even get directly in touch with Substack support. Anyone have a link, suggestion?

Sounds like Substack isn't helping in author/subscriber/subscriber payment issues?

Where is Substack support?

When you tap like, it actually registers but you can’t see it until you reload the page. Then the heart will be red. Unless you accidentally tap it twice or an even number of times (think on off on off) So now when it happens I remember to only tap it once carefully and reload the page and I see it. Hope that helps until they fix it!

Me neither! I used to be a javascript programmer, so I can see that breaking the "like" buttons started when Substack deployed bad javascript. The error when you click like looks like this on the browser's javascript console:

TypeError: e.with is not a function

I've been trying to get in contact with Substack tech support for days, but it seems impossible. Big black mark for Substack.

I believe it's a Chrome browser issue...that, and how I have Chrome locked down. For whatever reasons, I was opening Substack email notifications in Chrome. I have Chrome pretty heavily locked down to dis-allow tracking etc.

BILL, this post is a true winner. I’m setting it apart in order to send it around at some point. I have a short list of those I want to pay and you are on it. As far as problems with substack, I ended up accidentally clicking on a paid subscription box to a substack I do enjoy but did not want to pay yet. I contacted support. They got back quickly and said I could not cancel the payment but they would put “dismiss” on my file when renewal came up. That’s all they said. They have responded fairly quickly to some other problems I had. For example, I canceled and moved stacks to my new email, then re-subscribed, but replies and likes went to my old email. That has finally cleared up after some months. Another paid stack only gives me the entire paid posts on my iPad, but still locks me out on my iPhone. I’m not in the mood to address that yet. 🤪

Expand full comment

somehow substack has my credit card. to renew all I have to do is push a button. I didn't intend for them to have the number. So out of greed I think what happens is they just charge your credit card when ever the subscription comes up for renewal.

I don't think you are paranoid, at least not in a bad way. Personally, with the state of things today, it's gotten to the point where I expect things to go wrong. Incompetence and "just don't give a shit" is now almost the norm whenever I buy something whether product or service.

That said, there's another level where someone is deliberately trying to harm you by hurting you financially. That's what I was driving at with question about malevolence.

Have you been able to touch base with other substackers to see if others are having similar problems?

Expand full comment
author

I have heard from several Substackers who report similar "issues." For example, subscription growth has gone backwards or the rate of growth is far lower than it once was. I've heard several testimonials about "spammers" attacking our sites, trouble getting paid (paid subscribers whose payments were never processed), subscription "disputes," etc.

I also noted one Substack story about how Substack is being targetted because it has become a haven for "Nazis" and "extremists."

To me, Substack is the major player that provides real dissent from smart citizen journalists and researchers. It's already made a difference in changing certain narratives. IMO It would NOT fit the m.o. of the Deep State to simply ignore people who are threatening their program/agenda.

It's possible I might just be paranoid, but my bet would be my "Spider Sense" is working.

I think for most people it's simply incompetence (lack of critical thinking skills and/or enough self-confidence or principles to challenge the group-think).

But for some of the figures at the top of the Deep State organizational pyramids it's pure malevolence and evil. Those people are all sociopaths, psycopaths and disciples of Machievelli.

To be more specific, I think some of these people really do believe in de-population programs to the extent they don't mind at all implementing programs that will achieve this goal (killing more people and preventing more births).

They feel no empathy or all these deaths don't bother them at all. As others have pointed out, Fauci is a doctor but he's never treated one patient in his life. He wasn't in any ICU watching all these poor and old people suffocating on ventilators. He thought that's what should happen to them. They should be dosed up with remdesivir, just like AIDS/HIV patients should have been given AZT, which killed just as many people.

Many of our leaders of "public health" are cold-blooded killers ... IMHO.

If I come off like I'm minimizing the problem, that's not what I intended.

It's just that, in my experience, non-personal interactions of all types keep deteriorating in quantity and quality.

It may be that the botched transactions are due to the above since with payments, someone has to take the time to complain and follow through, not much bang for the buck. IMO, malevolent people (like the Feds) go bigger than that.

Strange times and excellent summary. I've had the following written waiting to send this to a partially on topic article of yours :

I have two questions for you or anyone that can answer them. I have tried so hard to open the eyes of friends and family members who couldn't wait to get the shot before checking anything out. I am in the "vulnerable due to age" group and a retired professor of political theory here in Texas. However I was skeptical of the mrna shots right from the start. I read the ingredients from the insert and with the inclusion of PEG, I realized this could cause problems to many. Pfizer and Moderna stated that if you are allergic to PEG, not to get the shot. What about people who wanted to know if they were allergic to it? Wouldn’t you think there would be thousands that did not know and would want to know? There was nowhere in the DFW area that tested for it. The closest place was Ohio. I would think most people would have wanted to know beforehand. That test was only available in some locations, but not in most states.

My brother in Denver is usually a thinker - but not about medicine. My brother just goes along with what a doctor says - and in this case the government - without batting an eye. He is, however, the only one that has been open enough to look at information, timelines, etc with me. I was appalled there were no early treatments even suggested in 2020. I had friends in 2020 that were actually told the well-known phrase, "Stay home until your lips turn blue." I had learned about some of the protocols being used. Some of my former international students called me to ask if I knew anything they could take since they had come down with covid in 2020.

I directed them to a Mexican plaza here that sells medicine. They were able to purchase ivermectin, azithromycin, and prednisone. Within THREE days, they were over it except for a slight cough.

In regard to my brother, he does not believe that NIH (I believe) sent out memos to state medical boards who in turn sent out a memo to doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies. Am I wrong? Did they send out memos stating to tell people to stay home and go to the ER if they could not breathe/lips turned blue? Did they suggest any early treatments to them in 2020?

Can you refer me to an actual memo the government sent? My brother was close to believing me when he saw a list of doctors worldwide and their 99 per cent success rate of early treatments. However, he wants to see the memo/s they sent or learn exactly what was said and I cannot find a copy on the internet.

I would appreciate your help. IF I can convince one family member they were misled, I would feel like some headway had been made on my part. Thank you for your time.

Yes it did. Thank you for looking. Also, about the insert given by Pfizer and Moderna. The only people that would know if they were allergic to PEG, would be those that had had a flu vaccine. It was bizarre what was happening, or not happening.

People were told not to go to the ER until they couldn't breathe. Early treatment has always been the key.

That is like telling someone with a broken leg to stay home until gangrene sets in, then go to the ER.

How/why did they all operate in lockstep?

I did find "guidance" on the CDC's website in the archives. It takes some searching but even then, it's not always crystal.

The electronic medical records have been wiped clean from any mention of Covid shots. Maybe the docs could tell us who was directing their orders...regardless, good for you saving the students and despite working on the frontline, I couldn't save more than 3 of my family members. To this day some are still taking the boosters...

Thank you for responding. I did look at their website and it says no further updates will be posted after August.

There was one student who had obviously had covid longer than a few days. He got the ivermectin. prednisone - 40 mg, and azithromycin at the Mexican plaza. We spoke a couple days later and he still sounded very congested and I said go to the doctor around the corner who has his own practice. He went and the doctor - who is from some country in Africa, looked at his medicine and was surprised. He asked where he got it and how he knew to take that. Apparently he smiled and then wrote a prescription for an inhaler and said you should be okay. It took him longer to get well, but he did.

There must have been some kind of memo in regard to early treatments since this was novel. Plus did the pharmacists just decide on their own not to fill prescriptions for ivermectin? I thought they received an actual memo as well.

The hospital admins did receive protocol and also told what was not approved.

I guess I am going to have to bite the bullet and ask my own doctor who never would give an answer when I asked on the phone if he recommended the shot. I think we know where he stands.

Unelected public health officials shouldn’t be able to mandate ANYTHING. Only democratically-elected lawmakers should be able to pass laws affecting the general public, even in emergencies, except maybe for VERY short periods of time measured in days, not weeks or months. Yes, 100% Bill.

This is the remit of my Substack ExcessDeathsAU:

"The Australian government (federal, state and local levels) committed democide, torture and mass murder during ‘covid zero’ and beyond. Here I document their actions. Using their own documents, legally obtained, I name the correct perpetrators during this mass slaughter."

The difficulty with democide during covid is that it required a new lexicon. We are quite literally seeing new crimes committed at scales, simultaneously, which we have never seen: genetic, spiritual and population. All the prior attempts of democide studies to describe what we have seen have, up until this point, failed to describe covid democide.

That's why I crafted "Covid Democide: A primer."

I designed a new lexicon to describe democide through a covid lens. This is important because we need to identify the different levels of perpetrators and victims. https://vicparkpetition.substack.com/p/covid-democide-a-primer

Assuming that the 'bug' was the result of GoF 'research', which I do, the inhumanity, corruption, democide and sheer concept of what our Gov/s (and helpers) have orchestrated and continue to attempt covering, is profound.

It's one thing to be corrupt in yourself or even in a small group or corporation (gov), but to perpetrate such a crime on a global scale is literally difficult to fathom. Thank you for putting pen to paper and showing people what the macro view looks like, as horrendous as it is.
