If you want to know why our stories include so many typos and grammatically-incorrect sentences, Annie is also in charge of copy-editing.

You've heard the excuse that the "dog ate my homework?" Annie has already eaten many homework assignments of our kids .... and that research under my card table desk - Annie has eaten most of it by now as well.

Damn. My wife tells me Annie is a corgi-terrier mix ... not a "corky-terrier mix." Annie should have caught that in her proof-reading duties. She doesn't even know what type of dog she is.

Also, photo credit goes to Carrie Rice. I don't have a cell phone with a camera. I have a circa 2007 flip phone.

Queen Elizabeth loved her Corgis!

My family tells me that. Annie's full name is actually Annie Elizabeth Rice so she's partially named for Queen Elizabeth (that, or my mother-in-law, Elizabeth).

Yes, I could put a "hit squad" on certain rooms in the house, but that would take away two hours from saving the world with my "research," posts and writing proper. Plus, every day I have to spend two hours picking up after Annie's little household tornados. Then it's time to go get the kids at school ... and after all that I'm so exhausted I have to start drinking (just kidding). It's actually time to go play catch with Jack - note the baseball underneath our computer screen.

Hmmm. I should stop making Substack posts and pitch a sitcom idea? ... Alas, it's already been done.

I've already pitched my wife on my latest idea - Struggling Substack author by day, struggling stand-up comedian by night.

No stand-up comedian is doing Covid humor so I would have a monopoly on the subject.

This was just a thought ...

I'll pit your Annie against our Maddie any day. Maddie is a rescue Belgian Malinois. We thought she was a mutt until someone smarter than we are saw her for who she actually is. Seriously, I like how Annie thinks!!!

I love the name Maddie. Our daughter is Maggie. She's going to play the lead in the musical production of "Dear Edwina" on Tuesday. I'll get my wife to take some photos and write a glowing review later!

“Maddie” is short for either Madeleine or Madison depending on whether you ask me or my husband.

Yes! Pictures and a review of “Dear Edwina,” please!!!! 😁

Pickle Jack McCoy also has a small but funny part in the production. Maybe both will be discovered by Hollywood talent scouts and they can nab a few big parts in the next Disney movies? I'll of course get them out of the business before they become spoiled and dysfunctional child stars.

Welcome! We have heard a lot about Bill’s many FB friends who mostly live in and around his neck of the woods. I don’t know if you know this....but Bill could really use some advertising on FB to direct some of that traffic here. He misses writing for “the locals” I gather from his musings. If y’all are as amazing as Mr Rice it could be an amazing adventure!

Thanks for this encouragement/suggestion. It does kind of bother me that most people who should be my "best market" of readers (people I've known for decades and who I tried to follow on FB) ... aren't even aware of my freelance writing and journalism efforts ... because of the algorithms.

I'd go crazy if I couldn't peck out a few silly pieces. I use to make posts like this on Facebook ... but then that option was periodically "suspended." Substack became a "work-around."

When it's my turn to write, Annie sits on the leather couch in my little study/office or right underneath my chair. I pet her and talk to her as I write and she tells me, "Good job, Bill."

When I need a break or need to think about my next paragraphs, I step outside and she goes with me. Sometimes she even does her business outside ... which is always the high point of my days.

Substack for me is the reverse of Facebook...” quality, not quantity.” I just posted on FB addressing Fauci’s interview with the NY Slimes... Fauci’s words “ Something clearly went wrong”.... FB blocked it. No snarky remarks fro me, just Fauci’s words... I’m slowly transitioning away. On an immature note, I hope Zuckerberg suffers the consequences of his autocratic actions.

As you know Bill, those terriers are the best rat catchers - a great thing since there seems to be many 2 legged ones around trying to control our lives . Annie looks like "sweetness in the belly" to me and Sage is really a Shih Tzu ... glad to see typos because it's a human trait so far .... my 42 birds just kept pecking the wrong keys .
