Bill, I just hate it when we eat our own on these critically important issues. I have no idea what’s wrong w/ her but I agree w/ you 💯
Early on, sooooo many drank the kool-aid & did not critically think. I welcome anyone who has awakened from the mass psychosis psy-op. We need them too, for the fight. Better late than never works for me
Cindi, I'm old enough and been "awake" long enough to have seen smaller versions of this tyranny before, so I am measured in my judgment of things. Humans are complicated and unique, and prone to self-aggrandizement. And I'm also sad when we turn on our own.
Therefore, some humility is in order. It's taken a long time for us to even believe that our country has been captured by evil. We're angry, and some, in anger, have expected a level of perfection and omnicience from others we wouldn't expect of ourselves!
Tucker is not an enemy, neither are Dr's. Malone, etc. It took them longer to come around, and most had much more to lose than we did, and took a 180 degree turnaround from everything they invested their lives in before 2020.
Only God is God, we are fallible, and none of us will likely know the evil that has been brought to bear to get the dissenters to shut up. Let's be wise as serpents and harmless as doves, and truth will eventually come out.
The people who DID have that "180-degree turnaround" are what gives me hope. If it happened to them, it can happen to others. But fewer of these people will "come forward" if they are also going to be attacked by "our side" once they do. Let's welcome them to the fight, I say.
Linden, I’m not @ all judging - that’s why I said “better late than never” & that we need them for the fight. I welcome anyone who always saw or has since seen the truth
NO one and I mean no one need be criticized for going along with the narrative at the start as they flooded the public with fear and panic compliments of the media and they did it so quickly and well that why would anyone suspect otherwise? I'll admit for the first few weeks I took what they said serious They knew that in order to make this work they'd have to move hard, heavy and fast because the longer it took the more people would realize that reality was not in alignment with what was being marketed to us via the media. I believe the only reason we survived this pandemic attempt was because they saw an opportunity with covid but weren't quite ready (with a vaccine) but believed they could make it work. Covid simply wasn't lethal enough to keep the scam going even with billions in marketing efforts to convince the publics to not believe their lying eyes but to trust the media and government.
In summary covid not being lethal enough and their not ready with a vaccine immediately is why this mostly failed. It wasn't a total loss as their friends in Big Pharma got paid which means the bureaucrats and elected persons involved will get their cut. It also allowed them to identity the troublemakers, those who will resist something like this. Next time they can be prepared to deal with those people at teh start so the pushback is of less significance when they do this again and they are going to try this again. The things they need to implement like a physical checkpoint and tracking system and setting the precedent that the government can mandate drugging of the public are only possible during times of great crisis.
No idea who Sage is and if she’s slamming Tucker I have no desire. There is nobody going as far as Tucker does so I guess she’d rather we have no one so she can stand on whatever principle she’s trying to validate.
This post inspired me to sign up for a paid subscription to your 'stack, Bill. I find your retort excellent: convincing, and even hopeful - which is saying a lot, coming from me. I confess I was somewhat baffled last night by the commotion and vitriol chez Sage.
I never heard of Sage before. It sounds like she needs to look deeper for better content. You have responded in a terrific way.
Her infantile antics amuse me but certainly do not pass for journalism.
I am reminded of an old nursery rhyme. You may know It:
"sticks and stones may break my bones (but words will never hurt me)"
But more importantly, I am reminded that when I went to law school I learned about people like Sage. If you are in a debate or discussion and you have no facts and cannot dispute the other side's case or poicy then your only hope is to employ the technique of "argumentum ad hominem". You see it is used a lot today on legacy media, especially against Trump. She appears to be quite skilled at it.
Stay the course with your thoughtful, measured response to such infantile personal ad hominem attacks. It is the obvious sign she has lost the debate.
The Stoic believes they don’t control the world around them, only how they respond--and that they must always respond with courage, temperance, wisdom, and justice.
Almost everyone needs to have the humility to admit that at first, none of us knew what Covid-19 really was, or how dangerous it might be. NONE. OF. US. It took a few weeks for some to become suspicious (top scientists, virologists, biologists, etc.), and within a month or two, more people were realizing that they weren't in any real danger of dying from Covid.
Like most news networks, Fox was "bought off" by Big Pharma... they wouldn't criticize the "emergency experimental jabs" (Hannity and others pushed them - hard).
So I consider it something of a small miracle that Tucker and a few others at Fox are pushing back on the "Science" narrative, in spite of Fox being on the take. Whatever it is, Tucker has the fortitude to push back on the Covid narrative (and a lot of other false/woke/official narratives) giving voice to our concerns - and our outright RAGE at our government.
If you're a praying person, keep praying for him to stay on track. Like all of us, he occasionally goes down some rabbit holes (UFO's etc. - in my humble opinion), but he is doing a LOT of good work. Lara Logan was doing incredible work, too, but for some reason she pissed someone off. Let's pray Tucker can keep shining the light in dark corners.
I distrust Tucker but I'm happy he speaks out. His father was a very good journo when they actually did good things. Sometimes I wonder if he's following in his father's footsteps? Sage needs to chill and get a little bit more practical. Perhaps age will smooth off some rough and jagged edges. In the meantime, Sage? Remove your caps button and/or wait 24 hours before posting maybe? You have some valid points but nobody listens to Capitalized arguments and name calling bc life is already uncivilized and scary!
I didn't know Tucker's dad was a journalist too. I really don't know much about his background. He's been on TV since he was a pup. I remember when he was a co-host of CNN's Cross Fire.
I don't think you messed up and I can see where Sage is coming from as well. Let' see if Tucker gets serious about the issues and is not just using this as a ratings ploy!!!!!!!
I subscribe to Sage’s substack, and signed up for yours yesterday (I think lol). I missed the whole kerfuffle, but I agree with you about Tucker. I also understand her anger and give credit for the apology. I get overwhelmed and ticked off too, but it never makes the people I’m trying to convince want to talk to me.
Of course, I’m not nearly the communicator I would like to be (like folks I enjoy reading on substack). You ALL help me to find better ways to talk to those who haven’t ‘seen the light’. And I am so grateful for a variety of voices and viewpoints.
I didn’t see the fraud of covid early on either. I’m a pharmacist and believed. But holy cow my eyes are so wide open, I’ll never go back.
I’m not sure why God has put this on my heart, but it’s there to stay. 🤍
I guess I’m babbling, but thanks for your humor and kindness. I enjoy your writing very much! :D
You're on it, Bill. There are a thousand voices out there with a thousand different perspectives. It's our job as readers and citizens to be discerning and take what we can from each of them. I don't expect to agree with any one commentator on EVERYTHING. Even the people I consider the smartest and best-informed, sometimes get things wrong. That doesn't mean they are paid-off "controlled opposition," it means they got one thing wrong. We can be skeptical and thoughtful without being tribal.
Ultimately, the only thing that matters is the end result. Trump ws also seen as a guy who's "on our side" and look what happened: two impeachments, no election reform, further election manipulation, Biden's economy, foreign policy, open border... I agree that it's a positive to have someone reframing ridiculous arguments to something saner, but it will take much more that talk to see any type of correction for the fine mess we're in, accelerating since Lincoln.
Elections are STATE MATTERS...So any oversight or reform must be done at the state level. Trust me, you don't want feds in charge of Elections!
Statists always want to concentrate power at a level unreachable by the average citizen, where you voice means nothing...Witness the attempt at HR1 this year.
So if you're concerned about that, don't look past your state, and even moreso, your county.
Good point. I think state and local elections give us the best chance for meaningful change. Of course, the Feds are trying to dictate everything from D.C and make local democracy moot. That's been one of the big debates or take-away from Covid policies as well. We need more DeSantis type governors who reject the Fed's efforts at achieving total control. I also note that the lawsuit being filed against censorship at Twitter and Facebook (coordinated with lots of Federal support) originated from two STATE attorneys general.
Regarding "Elections are state matters": It' s one thing for states to corrupt their own elections, but to allow it to corrupt federal elections demonstrates another defect in the federal constitution. Obviously having government closer to us isn't fixing the situation. It's the nature of those in government to be corrupt. There are ways around that such as recall elections, direct voter initiatives, laws that do not consist of general statements, and limiting state intrusion in private matters.
You can use recall, initiative, etc on state officials, if your state constitution permits...But there's mo recall for federal officers. That's why House members run every two years. Senators are problematical at 6 years.
The feds "rent" the state election system to conduct fed elections. It's a murky issue at best, because the Constitution gives elections power exclusively to the states.
State and local gov'ts have increased taxes and gov't employee bennies, over the last 30 years, WAY MORE than the feds, but they are also addicted to fed money, it's their opiate for sure.
Elections, education, and policing are state and local matters, paid in large by LOCAL TAXPAYERS. and control of those functions must be fought for, as states' rights.
And THAT'S why the feds are intent of taking them over. And corrupting local functions with fed money.... And why you see Democrats trying to federalize them with blatantly unconstitutional statutory laws. WITHOUT A REQUIRED CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT.
Take your power, concentrate it at the top, and rule with it. Pure dictatorship.
I am well aware of those issues and they are indeed problematic. There are states where people can possibly make a difference, and then there are other states where people have much less power. I've written on one way to address the states that may be of assistance and how it may, or not, effect change at the federal level: https://stevekarpmd.substack.com/p/can-democracy-save-the-republic
As for the feds, most of what they do has no constitutional basis, it's just statutory, but it's the system that allows it by lacking an easy to use enforceable mechanism to fix that. That, and figuring out once and for all, or amending all those generalizations that fill the constitution, keeping courts focused on the case on hand and not "precedent", limiting E.O. to the running of the executive and so on.
Loved your post! Yes, stare decisis is a problem, especially when used as a tool of incrementalism in destroying the original intent of the Framers. And law schools are designed to eliminate any vestige of conscience by the time a student graduates. I say this as the daughter of a judge and Harvard Law valedictorian.
The law is a reflection of, and determinant of, the morals of a people, and yet this aspect of it is eschewed by all these days. And the scope of EOs must be limited..Obunghole opened that door, Trump excerbated it, and Biden has turned it into pure tyranny.
Our electorate is stupid and lazy, why I left politics. And they have no idea how bad it can get. Having evacuated people out of war zones several times, I do.
Thanks, and thanks for the link. Lots to read and digest. Yes, the H of R is a fraction of what it should be and by the numbers alone, can't represent us. It's another aspect of a huge constitutional defect, lack of an enforcement mechanism, penalties, etc. I'm glad I didn't waste 3 years in law school. I'd have been very unhappy later on, or just competition for Legalman. Your father must have some interesting stories though it appears you do too.
I have seen this group of people who are not only filled with rage but convinced that others are "wasting time," not hating enough people and not angry enough to join their fury club and in fact received a few bursts of profanity and hate from them myself.
I really think their rage is a function of their experience of impotence. I don't mean sexual impotence. I mean the sense that all the significant levers of power in the world today are held by evil actors, and that there is nothing we subjects, citizens, plebes, serfs, call us what you will - can ever do to change this reality. Everything is rigged. Elections everywhere are rigged. Politicians are powerless in the hands of the elite which control them and own them. The entire US government is in the same position as are governments of virtually all countries around the world. Evil is so entrenched that all resistance is futile, contrary to the popular meme which declares it is not. They feel this in their bones. This is their lived reality. "Nothing matters. Nothing matters. Nothing matters." This is Sage's motto. Nothing she or anyone - no matter how brilliant, brave, knowledgeable, capable, passionate, heroic, or psychically, spiritually aware - can do can possibly matter, in any realm, on any level of reality, in any way. That is what I mean by "impotence."
I understand this mindset, but I don't adhere to it, nor do I believe it. I believe this experience of impotence is a function of profound spiritual ignorance, which is itself the very hallmark of modern humanity. By "modern" I mean since the so-called "Enlightenment," which is said to have begun three to four hundred years ago.
Good analysis. I can relate to some of the sentiment you describe. One of my themes is that EVERY important organization is now captured so where is the "change" going to come from? But I am with you that we have to keep fighting the good fight. If we don't, the Bad Guys will definitely win.
The most significant lever of power is not held by those evil actors: it is the bloodletting rage of hundreds of millions of sovereign citizens when / if the decide to act. Nothing would be able to defeat that force. THAT is the message everyone needs to hear and understand. We’re all going to die - the question we’ll all have to answer is “how did we live”.
I guess the fury club collectively could be a her (as is a ship), but yes I meant Sage -I'm a "her" and I choose not to enroll in the fury club. Makes me think of Hillary Clinton though and what she must be like especially to those that know her behind the scenes.
I'm not a Tucker Carlson fan AT ALL, but I agree that this is one thing he is doing right. Thank you for recognizing the positive impact of his dissemination of facts around Covid and the 'vaccines.'
With 10 million viewers Tucker can throw his weight around at FOX. They won't kill the golden goose as long as he just pushes the boundaries. He knows the game. Oriely had a contract that left little for FOX. FOX has not made this mistake with Tucker.
Bill you are correct about being on the right side of history. I lived in San Antonio until 2021 and moved away (in part) because of all the Masked-Vax-Covidians and the palpable spirit of fear in the atmosphere. I still run our business there, and I know of 4 persons in my concentric circle of friends and business associates that were killed by what used to be some very good hospitals' NIH-guided protocols. It seems their process was/is: "If you are not 'vaccinated' and come to the hospital with Covid, we will kill you with our protocols, thereby teaching you a lesson and making another statistic and public example"
It's monstrous what has been, and is still allowed to go on, and now they're pushing gene therapy on children.
Regarding Tucker: better late than never, and dogma kills. The death cult of the left kills.
I wrote an article a month of so ago blaming Facebook and Twitter for countless deaths. There's no doubt if these sites had allowed genuine free speech, the narrative would be much different and many more people would be alive today. People who are disabled now would not be. We look at all the things that did happen, but we don't look at what would have happened if X had occurred.
Sage makes that point about Tucker - he could have been doing stories that saved lives earlier, which is no doubt true. But he's doing those stories now when 99 percent of his colleagues on TV are not ... so that's something.
I think Tucker going as far as he's gone has made more people think it's okay to now question the narrative. And if Tucker really does want to be on the right side of history, he'll become even bolder in future comments, which I think is happening. And other Talking Heads at Fox are starting to follow his lead - so the needle is moving in the right direction at least at one TV network ... And this is no Po-Dunk TV network.
One should be sure to watch the Tucker Carlson Today episode The Heart Doctor & The Vaccine from November 29.
It is with Dr. Aseem Malhotra a Top British Cardiologist who
suffered a recent, personal tragedy & joins us to share his thoughts on possible harmful effects associated with covid vaccines. He too made U-turn on covid vaccines when his own father died 'suddenly and unexpectedly." He is amazing and quite articulate in describing what he thinks is behind all this. It is worth a subscription to Fox Nation for just this episode.
I saw the short clip on Tucker's show, but I don't subscribe to Fox Nation so I couldn't see the hour-long interview. I need to probably subscribe to Fox Nation. It's very interesting how Tucker is doing these extended interviews and documentaries at that site.
This interview with the Brit doctor was big news ... at least for a mainstream TV personality. Nobody else on TV is doing these type interviews.
I do need to watch the hour-long interview. The fact Tucker gave this guy an hour is very significant IMO. I also think this whole separate Tucker initiative - these hour-long interviews with contrarians that air on Fox Nation - is noteworthy. I guess Fox executives signed off on letting him doing these extra more detailed interviews. Which is a good sign. I also think Tucker is using some of his popularity as "leverage" to be able to do separate interviews like this one. He's also using that leverage to do those politically-incorrect documentaries his team is producing. Like on the 1-6 "insurrection" and the transgender issue. These are definitely taboo topics for the mainstream media, but somehow and for some reason Tucker is able to get these segments produced and reach even more people.
I also note that Tucker also promotes his own website and production company a lot these days. I've always thought this might be a "Plan B" in case he ever leaves Fox or is forced to leave Fox. If this happens, he's already got a platform established where his millions of viewers can follow him and he can keep producing contrarian journalism. I think there is a lot going on behind the scenes involving what type of journalism segments can air and what types can't air. It seems to me Tucker is doing what he can to get more important (and otherwise "off limits") segments produced.
Conversely, it seems likely that Fox News doesn't want to lose Tucker ... and so they let him do some of the projects he wants to do.
Bill, I just hate it when we eat our own on these critically important issues. I have no idea what’s wrong w/ her but I agree w/ you 💯

No offense taken!

Bill, the right balance of truth, snark, and chuckles. We all want to write pieces like this from time to time but seldom get to. I am glad you did.

One can never go truly wrong when living by the Four Cardinal Virtues (of course, Aristotle said there were more). Great reminder.

"not angry enough to join their fury club"
I think there is also an unspoken purity test that all must pass in order to avoid her wrath and scorn.
"Her" wrath? Freudian slip? Oh, I see you meant Sage. At first I thought you were referring to the fury club as she.
I agree completely with your retort.
Sage who ?
Let's not go thither. She banned me for 100 years.
Well, you can get back on in 101 years. It's not a permanent ban like most people are getting these days.
Bill,
A thought here about Tucker Carlson.

I'll find some other things to parts of it if I can.
A two minute twitter clip of the longer show.

The longer show is worth it. He offers a week for free too. Worth just to watch THIS.

I agree 100%. Free Market Capitalism at work.
