Fauci’s replacement is from my state!
And I tried to reach out to her and her virologist team in my early spread investigations. Let’s just say I’m not impressed.
I just read that Dr. Fauci’s replacement as director of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) will be Dr. Jeanne Marrazzo, a virologist from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
As it turns out, I emailed Dr. Marrazzo in May 2020 when I was trying to get her to investigate two possible Covid “case zeroes” in our own state.
Neither she nor any virus sleuths at UAB took any interest in Tim and Brandie McCains’ almost-certain early cases.
I also emailed a “journalist” at al.com, the largest news organization in our state (the former Birmingham News, Mobile Press Register and Huntsville Times, now all out of business as traditional newspapers).
I was really trying to get this “news” organization to write a story about the McCains, but I was also responding to an al.com story that trumpeted Dr. Marrazzo as one of the leading virus experts in America.
If this is the type “trusted experts” who will continue to “lead” our country, Heaven help us. And now this same lady is replacing Fauci!
Since Dr. Marrazzo (who gets glowing reviews from Fauci) is going to be in charge of doling out billions of dollars of “science” grants, it’s probably worthwhile to publicize a few of her quotes from this laudatory puff piece from al.com in December 2020.
As readers learned in the headline, “Dr. Jeanne Marrazzo made Alabama smarter in 2020.” Readers also learned that “This story is part of AL.com’s series ‘Alabamians who made a difference in 2020,’ highlighting people who have made our state a better place to live this year. “
My comment: Every “public health official” al.com celebrated with this nauseating series actually made our state far worse than it needed to be. Also, every journalist and editor at a.com did their parts as well.
First Quote from Dr. Marrazzo: “We have tried so hard to make sure our community has the best and most complete information needed to protect all of us from this pandemic.”
My comment: Gag me with a spoon. The UAB organization she led was spreading disinformation that couldn’t have been worse or more incomplete and their efforts didn’t “protect” anybody. This bogus information ended up harming countless people.
Second Dr. Marrazzo quote: “Our vaccine research team … has been central to the U.S. response in mounting these vaccine trials. And other investigators … have been working tirelessly to help characterize the actual infection and how our bodies respond.”
My comment: So our new NIAID director led the “vaccine research team” that was “central to the U.S. response in mounting these vaccine trials.” These would be the vaccine trials that told Americans these shots were “safe and effective” and would end all future cases.
Third Dr. Marrazzo quote: “Finally, several investigators under Dr. [Michael] Saag’s group … secured substantial funding to ensure that vulnerable populations in the State are tested for COVID as needed. In short, everyone has jumped in and made not just local and state but nationally recognized contributions.”
My comment: Dr. Marrazzo was obviously good at “securing substantial funding” from her friend Dr. Fauci. In this example, she made sure millions of asymptomatic people got PCR tests they didn’t need.
But her team’s contributions helped her land one of the most powerful jobs in the world (although one suspects 82-year-old Anthony Fauci will still be making the big decisions).
I’ve decided to start calling out people and publishing
prior emails I wrote (most of which were ignored) ….
In an email I wrote December 27, 2020 to journalist Dennis Pillion, I laid into Dr. Marrazzo and her team of faux scientists at UAB. (This email qualifies as a “two-fer” ... I got to vent about our country’s new NIAID director and the sorry news organization al.com.)
Except for boldfacing some text and a few minor edits, I left the email as I sent it at the time. Needless to say, the journalist didn't respond to my email.
Dennis,
I'm sure Dr. Marrazzo and her team must have done some important COVID work, but I think she completely ignored one of the biggest COVID stories in the country - and it was right in her backyard. FWIW, al.com has completely ignored the same story, but maybe you will be the one reporter who will take a look into their very important cases?
Here's the links to my story and follow-up story ("Is a Real Search for the Truth now Taboo?") Note the latter story summarizes my interactions with Dr. Marrazzo's team.

https://uncoverdc.com/2020/07/13/covid-19-is-a-real-search-for-the-truth-now-taboo/
Story basics: Tim and Brandie McCain of Sylacauga both had COVID in late December (2019), if not mid-December. They have now had 3 antibody tests to confirm this diagnosis (UPDATE: at least 4 positive antibody tests today), plus they had all the symptoms (Tim nearly died). BTW, they are getting ready to get yet another antibody test(s). If they still have antibodies in their symptoms, they will have had them for ONE YEAR - surely longer than any other American. If that's not a story, I don't know what a real story is.
I called Dr. Marrazzo and emailed her, seeking to talk about the McCains' likely early cases. You can see the response I got below: No interest whatsoever. After my story was belatedly published, I contacted her office again and, again, nobody at UAB's world-renowned "infectious disease program" exhibited the slightest curiosity about possible Patient Zeroes being treated for one month in January in .... a B'ham hospital.
In my opinion, these are either incompetent "experts" or they are engaging in professional malpractice by showing no interest in investigating these cases. They knew all this in May (2020) if not sooner.
Here I am talking more about the ADPH - which also knows all about the McCains and never reached out to them, but UAB should have had a team of investigators at the McCains' house in April or certainly by May. You might also want to follow up with officials at Grandview Medical Center, which also blew off this reporter when I tried to ask some basic questions.
One day it will be obvious to all that COVID was circulating in America and the world in November (2019), December and January. The question will then become: Why didn't any of these "experts" know this? They can't plead ignorance. Or did they know this (or strongly suspect this was the case) and, for some inexplicable reason, seek to cover it up?
If they did conceal vital medical, epidemiological and scientific information, they probably are complicit in thousands of unnecessary/avoidable deaths.
Here's the statement I got when I tried to interview Dr. Marrazzo:
"Dr. Marrazzo is on clinical service and unable to do this. However, Dr. Rachael Lee, MD, UAB Hospital’s Epidemiologist, shared the below statement. I hope this helps for your piece.
“Based on our current knowledge, the WHO indicated the first few cases of COVID-19 in late December in 2019. Based on this data, it is likely that globally there are no cases before that time.
My Comment: This is so wrong. Read my stories. Read the latest story on COVID (antibodies) being found in more than 100 blood samples from December (2019) saved by the American Red Cross.
Back to UAB statement from Dr. Marrazzo’s team: “… While there certainly could be reason to think that COVID-19 could have been circulating in the United States and in our communities before we were truly aware of its impact – particularly due to knowing now how pervasive this virus is and how easily it can be spread – we just don’t have data to back this up at this time in Alabama …”
My Comment: Well, I was trying to give you data that would "back this up." You had - still have - zero interest in looking at this data.
Back to UAB statement: “… There are two studies, however, that have shown positive cases in autopsy specimens prior to recognition of community spread (California and France). It is conceivable that person may have felt sick in December and tested positive for antibodies, but their illness could have been due to cross-reactivity with common cold strain or they may have had an asymptomatic case of COVID-19 in the spring. Unfortunately, we just may not know.”
My Comment: This theory is ridiculous. Both McCains had all the COVID symptoms in late December 2019. This theory posits that the McCains had some bug that made them this sick; Tim nearly dies, they came home from ICU in late January (2020) and they just happen to BOTH get asymptomatic cases in March or early April - this explains their THREE positive antibody tests?
Here's what I think happened: UAB, ADPH and CDC all know that if they HAD done a serious investigation into the McCains (and many other "confirmed" early cases), they would have established that both obviously had COVID 19 in December (2019), when (this virus) wasn't supposed to be here. Their Solution: Don't investigate.
That's fine I guess, but don't make a hero out of officials who are either corrupt, engaged in a cover-up or are too obtuse to identify and at least investigate cases that would completely change the entire COVID narrative in the world.
Now you are about the seventh al.com reporter or editor I have emailed about the McCains' cases, so I have no expectation you'll be any different than the other ones who don't see this as an important story (or perhaps do see it as an important story, but one you don't want the public to become aware of). Still, I did try. The McCains would love to talk with you even today. Let me know if you want more info or their contact info.
Sincerely
Bill Rice, Jr.
Troy
Final comment: As you can see from the above email, my thinking about how corrupt and captured our public health agencies and “watchdog” press are hasn’t changed in three years. I thought this then and I think the same thing today. Even more so.
“Based on our current knowledge, the WHO indicated the first few cases of COVID-19 in late December in 2019. Based on this data, it is likely that globally there are no cases before that time."
This is yet another example of not wanting to find uncomfortable truths.
Lede paragraph from the story that said Dr. Marrazzo made Alabama citizens "smarter" in 2020:
"2020 will probably always be remembered as the year of COVID-19, but it’s also the year that many Alabamians learned we have some of the best infectious disease doctors and researchers in the world right here at the University of Alabama at Birmingham."
There you have it. Straight from the journalists who trust every sentence these experts ever utter. We have the best of the best experts right here in Alabama! And now the best of these is heading to Washington D.C. to work even more closely with Pfizer and Bill Gates.
