My wife is actually a high school teacher, so she is affected by this as well. She now teaches in a nearby town so I asked her if her school also has turned off their water fountains. Si. Or kind of. She tells me they have "water bottle re-filling stations."

Oh man.

Before the bat flu forced me into early retirement, I would always bring my own r/o filtered water to work. Tap water is only worth it during time of dehydration. Furthermore, I only drink when I am thirsty, I don't subscribe to the 8oz an hour malarkey.

Segue to my Rant of Today....Biden is going to take away my Five Burner Gas Stove??? I don’t think so, Joey.... let’s go ask all the corporate sell outs like Martha Stewart, Ina Garten, even Guy Fierri what they think about that... what’s next Government Kitchens preparing us healthy “hazard free” meals for our own good???GTFA!!! I don’t even believe gas stoves cause any health issues. It’s WHO saying it & we know what f’ing liars they are. It’s all about control & taking away oil & gas in every format...hidden under the guise of “health”. I have several libtard friends who are excellent cooks (1 is a chef-caterer) & I’m tempted to ask how they’ll feel about that. My guess is they’d be fine w/ it as long as they’re “grandfathered in”. And yes, it would be interesting to know how libtard “celebrity” chefs & restaurateurs would feel about it too. If a repug president proposed such a thing the howls of indignation & fury would be endless

And now he’s banning all non LED light bulbs.... as a now retired former interior designer for 30 years, this simply is not acceptable. Nothing like decorating someone’s family room to look cozy and comfy and have the lighting be sufficient for a Hospital OR...NO, you cannot tell me what light bulbs to use... and the LED energy saving bulbs that cost a fortune do not last to their advertised longevity. My husband started writing the installation dates on them... they don’t last a year. But go ahead Joe, find more ways to screw us. 🤬🤬🤬 I’m hoarding regular light bulbs.

MarthaAW, I want to do a story on those dad-blasted environmental light bulbs. What a rip-off and scam that we let happen to all of us. I'm with you, they don't last nearly as long as they are suppose to and the lighting is terrible. And they are more expensive ... besides that they are great. And they are not saving the environment. Ethanol in our gas is another pet peeve. Anyway, I might check back with you to get data on how long those bulbs really last.

I know this is WAY off topic, but...

My last conference at a formerly 5 star hotel did not have room service due to CV, did not have it's jewelry shop which closed due to CV, did not have a robe or hygiene items in the room due to CV, and the previously catered dinner was 'on your own'. Seriously?? The third time I heard the 'due to CV' excuse I asked, 'Did you all get bought out or something?' and they admitted that....Due to CV they did!

Again, off the topic of water for kids which is arguably much more important, but how many things 'due to CV' are just actually due to conglomerate and/or govt takeover or overreach? And why aren't more people noticing these things and upset about them?

Don't get me started!!! Fond memories of my high school football playing son who had to wear is official eagles logo gator over his face OUTSIDE fall of 2020, followed by a cancelled football season. So dangerous to play an outside sport back then. Meanwhile, my birth state of AR had a fall 2020 football season. I guess the virus was more dangerous in CA??

That's a vent I need to write as well. As you point out, some states cancelled all high school sports in 2020 and others didn't. I don't know of any athlete who died from Covid in junior high, JV or high school sports. That's tens of millions of athletes. But plenty lost the memories they would have savored for a lifetime. Some lost scholarship opportunities.

The issue is the governments (and most of the idiot voters) in those states do not care, never will, and will never be held to account. Your choices are to give up or move. Or you can stay around and make some noise, but state after state (check out the last election) shows that that is mostly wasted oxygen.

Florida is nice this time of year...for more reasons every day.

Good vent. Linking it today @https://nothingnewunderthesun2016.com/

I remember when all the hospitals and doctor's offices turned their water off, as if covid was traveling through the water pipes. People don't normally put their mouths on the drinking fountains they just drink the water. Now they all seem to have them back on. What changed? We still get a new so-called scarient every few months. Don't they come through the pipes as well or have the pipes developed immunity now.

Also remember when the virus was in your poop, "It's everywhere"!!!! And that's the point, it's always been everywhere and wearing a mask and standing 6 feet apart won't do squat. The best meme I ever saw showed people walking on all fours because the government told them to because the virus hovers 3 feeta nd above. Used it as my Image for The Day last January - https://nothingnewunderthesun2016.com/2022/01/04/58207/

Thanks for linking to my little vent. Has any "study" shown the virus can be spread through water fountains? Who puts their mouth on the metal part of the water fountain anyway? Especially in a pandemic? I wonder what the companies who make and sell water fountains think of all this?

The water fountain was a great invention. I'm sorry it's now obsolete or a villain in so many locations and jurisdictions.

The entire state is open. No masks, no distancing, everything open, but God forbid you should want a drink of water anywhere outside a restaurant! UGH! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Question, are you allowed to bring bottled water like deer park? Why was it that some fountains were colder? No one ever researched that. Are kids eating in their rooms?

My wife says you can bring bottled water to school, but it's of course cheaper to fill up the bottles from the tap. I don't know why some water fountains were/are "colder" but they are! Yes, I just went to one of those "dine with your kids" days. There was one class going back to their room to eat and I asked about this and was told, yes, some classes still eat in their room even today. This was common for many months.

If the water in your area is fluoridated I wouldn't want my kids drinking it so maybe shutting off the water fountains is a good idea. Buy bottled water, it's better for you.

Get a water filter like a Berkey. You can take it with you if you ever have to move.

Spring water is best (I understand)

Not purified...

Spring water can have contaminants, but I'd still take it over tap water.

Don't buy into the 'minerals' propaganda that the pro fluoride crowd pushes. One bite of celery has more minerals than a weeks worth of tap water. Major of your minerals comes from your food anyway.

Expand full comment

Not sure all bottled water is fluoride free. In fact, a quick google search says that major brands like Aquafina, Crystal Geyser, Dannon, Dasani, Evian, Perrier, Poland Springs and Propel all contain varying degree of fluoride. Reverse Osmosis is the best way to remove it.

Expand full comment

Buy the cheap stuff. Most of it is RO water.

Expand full comment

The fluoridation of water is yet another very bad thing which is being done.

Fluoride is a halogen chemical, as is chlorine, bromine, and iodine.

The first 3 of these halogen chemicals displaces iodine from its biochemical receptors in our body. So, these 3 are not good to be exposed to for this reason. If you live in a community that has chlorinated water, you are somewhat more in luck because chlorine is pretty easy to filter out of the water. Fluorine is not as easy to filter out, but there are now companies making filters which do this.

Most communities in the USA have fluoridated water now.

Iodine is essential for the biochemical functioning of these organs: brain, salivary glands, thyroid gland, thymus gland, stomach, pancreas, ovary, breast, and skin. Typically, we do not take in enough iodine (iodinated salt is hardly good enough) and so an iodine supplement can be used. 10 mg./day is a healthy dose, and will serve to flood the receptors competitively to displace the fluoride and chloride.

Water is about the most precious thing on this planet. It is the very foundational basis for all life. In addition to harming our biochemistry, fluorine and chlorine kill its living molecular structure and intelligence. Keep in mind that we are 70% water.

Bromine is put in all upholstery as a fire retardant....another overreach. We absorb this one in small amounts through our skin by contact with the fabric.

The Berkey filter is mentioned below. This is a very good portable filtration system and it does take out chlorine. I am not sure about fluorine, but the Berkey people are probably on this, and you might check with them. Water filtration companies have wised up to this threat and are coming out with filters that take out the fluorine. It's very important.
