I'd also bet a gift card to Applebee's that Lee Greenwood is vaccinated. He's probably vaccinated because he has been told by concert promoters he is NOT free to perform at many venues unless he got this shot.
Re-stated: He's free to (now) return to pursuing his chosen profession ... IF he gets the shot "authority" told him he HAD to get.
The reluctance of celebrities in general to stand up against tyranny has been remarkable. Remember when Jennifer Aniston proclaimed she was ending all friendships with anyone who refused the jab? I've often wondered what Dalton Trumbo and Orson Welles and Charlie Chaplin and Lucille Ball would say today.
I think of all the actors who protested the "Red scare" and the "blacklisting" of communists (real or alleged) in Hollywood. This was a witch hunt and was harmful discrimination even if they were bonafide communists. But today's leading actors and directors don't protest the "blacklisting" of "anti-vaxxers." That's okay and even good and necessary.
I'm not afraid of the government. I'm afraid of people who are afraid of the government. Ultimately, it's always neighbors, friends and family who are convinced to turn on each other. Somehow, the average person always falls for the lies and turns on those who most care about him/her. When will we learn that the government does NOT care about us. Nor do corporations, the medical establishment or education system.
To quote Michael C. Ruppert: "Until you change how money works, you change nothing." And the timeless quote by Upton Sinclair: “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it!” There is no courage except the courage that comes with refusing to compromise the truth no matter what the cost.
This is how normal everyday Germans who were just following orders executed Communists, Russian prisoners of war, gypsies and Jews during the last great war. The similarities are stark. Read Eric Metaxas' book " Letter to the American Church". It could happen in the USA.
There's Ted Nugent...man he can let it rip. And Rob Schneider, the comedian, is rather surprisingly, quite awake and outspoken. John Schneider, of the Dukes of Hazzard, has been on it from the beginning. Woody Harrelson had that interesting opening for SNL. I know, I know... so few.
It's not just America though. I'd say, in any population, you'll have about 30% who are morally strong/brave no matter what, about 30 % who are morally repugnant, and about 40% who are morally "fluid" ,to use a current buzzword, in that their morality depends on the conditions of that time. I imagine it's always been so.
We were discussing the people who speak truth, instead of the prevailing narrative meant to deceive or subjugate people. We need those that make/enforce the laws to see also, and act on our behalf. And there are precious few. We need all we can get, AND we need to support them.
I keep thinking the politicians will go along with "the narrative" once the narrative has become common-place. So if the narrative became "the vaccines are killing lots of people" even the politicians would support this narrative - just to stay in office and be perceived as being on the side of "the people." But you have to change the accepted narrative.
And, like it or not, the mainstream captured media controls the narratives or what are "official stories" and what are not "real" stories/scandals.
You'd need some prominent news organization to break ranks from the "club" or "pack" and do real journalism that destroys some false narratives. As I wrote recently, we just need ONE scandal to be exposed. I think if one big news organization definitively broke some scandal, they'd actually be rewarded and perhaps others competing organizations with have no choice but to follow-up on the scandal? The idea is you get the whole pack suddenly investigating something that was taboo before this point. Then you'd get results.
That's what I'd like to see happen anyway. But this probably won't happen ... because 100 percent of the MSM are captured. If one did break ranks, the club would come down hard on them to set an example to other would-be apostates.
YES. I'm so sick of the Trump nut-huggers. I hate that crude term but don't know a more apt application of it. He was a godsend to put the libs in their place. He did a ton right until COVID, was the best president in my lifetime and I'm old. But he's an opportunist and an intellectual lightweight. He wouldn't drain the swamp and listened to swamp creatures and ignored better advisors - and not just on COVID. He failed totally on his biggest challenge. He chose Fauci, Birx, pharma and the CDC/NIH over the Great Barrington Declaration and countless honest experts like Scott Atlas. And he still does. I am really tired of Trump worshippers, it's a cult of personality.
Speaking of "courage," that post took some guts. I think a decent-sized percentage of former Trump supporters feel like you do. I was pulling for him and liked a lot of what he was saying, but there should be no doubt he flunked the most important test of his presidency - the government response to Covid.
He's favored to win the Republican nomination in a cakewalk, so I wonder if he'll do better at the "draining the swamp" project if he gets a re-do. And I wonder if "exposing Covid scammers" will even be on the agenda (probably not).
Smart political gurus keep mentioning a Trump/Kennedy team. I don't think Kennedy would go along with this, but I don't rule it out entirely. If we did have President Trump and Vice President Biden ... that would make for even more interesting times. I'd buy a lot of popcorn to watch that movie.
"If we did have President Trump and Vice President Biden ..."
As I stated below, running on 2 hours sleep last night, I might be missing something. You meant Trump/V.P. Kennedy ticket, right?
That would be something else, if so. But I'm afraid they would be tied in a knot by the evil that has overtaken our govt - our everything - top to bottom.
Trump's very good, as presidential candidates go. But that's relative, the competition is the pits. I think he might do a marginally better job of draining the swamp after seeing the FBI and DOJ attempts to hurt him as much as they possibly can, legally or illegally. But only marginally. He needs strong, courageous fighters around him to do that. Not the type that fit his requirement of one-way loyalty and subservience. So if he gets there it will be more frustration. Not to mention his unwillingness to even acknowledge the biggest issue of all, the COVID and jab disasters.
I like that idea. Trouble is, it's not enough. Look around - do you really think enough Americans are up to the task of "just not comply"? I'm not seeing many such people. Still good advice, just saying we need something beyond that.
Steelj: I know. You’re right. I just can’t think of any other way to stop this evilness. People only do things to us that we allow them to. I’ve observed that many people only comply to avoid an ‘awkward moment’, or they’ve been fooled into having some vague idea of getting into some sort of trouble. I’m hoping more folks will be willing to work through this awkwardness. I’m not a hopeful person lately, but I think we need to try harder. I know that I wore a mask for months, to the store (and even hiking in Arches National Park - what was I thinking?!). Never again for me, though. This whole ‘emergency power’ thing is so dang evil…
Contrarians are not just attacked by brain washed crowds, but by friends and family. One has to have thick skin to repeatedly with humor brush off intended insults calling one a tin-hatter and conspiracist.
Contrarians are not emotionally, and fear led but observe patterns and reason with logic and common sense. In other words, we believe what our eyes and ears perceive, and not the liars who deceive with contradictory, ridiculous and unsophisticated lies.
Hmmm, guess I’m one of those Contraians, yet one who actually didn’t just talk the talk but actually walked the walk. I never once wore a face diaper of submission, nor did I allow any killer q-tips to enter my nose, I did everything I normally did and those who got in my way with their bullshit got shredded verbally and backed off.
Common sense tells you Not to inject anything into our precious bodies. Unfortunately, it is sorely lacking today. Critical thinking, yep it’s dead too.
Sure I got beat up by family and friends but I just let it go, because I had the truth and more importantly GOD on my side. What’s funny is not a single one of them today can look me in the eye and only a few have in so many words said they were sorry you were right. I’m guessing this is because they require my help for their new founded diseases and disabilities. Yet, I digress. And am there to do what I can.
This whole shebang goes so much deeper, and because the majority of the world has kicked God to the curb, they have been given over to reprobate mind sets, which has lead all of us into this hell on earth.
Until people wake up and understand that this is a spiritual war, repent , stand up for truth and what is right becoming a force to be reckoned with, it will only continue.
Take a moment, close your eyes, and just imagine, everybody standing their ground and shouting NO! I will NOT comply.
Me, I see Red, White and Blue, I see fireworks going off, I see smiling faces, I see happy people, in other words I see FREEDOM!
I’m an optimist, so my dream may very well come true, I have faith in the American people. We were all blindsided, now it’s time to get God back into our lives and make this dream a reality!
There are No free lunches in this world, if you want Freedom, it must be fought for, are you up for it?
sort of what I said to family members or work colleagues (who were already jabbed) when they asked - "why aren't you getting the shot Kev?" and rather than give the long list of reasons & risk an argument, I said "I'm not afraid of dying".
Too bad. I'll never forget hearing his song when I was in the Airmen's club at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, when it came on we all stood up, lighter in hand and sung along, swaying, singing along, eyes welling up with tears as we sang, proud to be an American, loudly the lyric, "Stand UP, next to you and defend her still today." That song still made my eyes tear up whenever I heard it, memories of my time in USAF imprinted that strongly, believing the words that much to be so physically moved.
Until he gave up on the Constitution. He gave up on the 2nd Amendment. Made the case of those who hate it in his stunt. And now I hear the song, wanting the sentiment to be true. But knowing both the artist and the reality of this nation today aren't what that song made it seem like they were.
I've not given up on the nation. But I know freedom has to be fought for again. We've lost it. And if we don't fight for it and win again now it will get harder and harder to fight for and win again every day we don't fight and win it back. The opponents of freedom get stronger, they fortify their positions of power and control. We have more and more ground we have to retake to restore freedom. And when we do it will be celebrated by a new, different song that will make us tear up, more emotional, more physically moved than Lee Greenwood's. He forfeited his freedom. His song is the song of a phony. The sentiment it contains remains true to aspire to. But a new songwriter and performer more deserving, who really, truly believes their own words will be the rightful heir to that song.
It seems like I, we, live in a nation of Jonestown cult members, or livestock (cows & sheep). So much freedom was eliminated in 2020. I was caught off guard. I'm ready now. I held the line.
I keep coming back to cult analogies all the time, Mr. Elk. The tactics used to keep cult members in the cult ... and the leaders of the cult in positions of authority ... are very familiar.
You know who I think of when I think of a brave and free American? That gymbro from NYC who said 'stuff you, I'm not shutting down and neither are my patrons.' He kept racking up the fines, millions at one point. He did not give a sweet F just kept pumping iron through the police and state intimidation. At one point they tried to physically shut him down and he just smashed his own door in and kept operating. He had a crew of likeminded bros.
His attitude: come at me and all of us will go down. I like that.
Exactly! And if most of the small business owners had done the same, rather than a rare outlier here and there, it would’ve been very effective. Hopefully next time.
This makes me think of another important point. We need some brave leaders who push back and take a stand ... but then these people need to get a little more (a lot more) support from others ... This would make these protests grow and make a difference.
Small, targeted protests were very effective in Australia. We crippled the iron ore mining industry in WA. We didn't need a majority, only a dedicated minority in key positions. We had zero union support - they were working against us - and we eventually ground them down to where the state - and therefore the country - was losing too much money.
Believe it or not, we didn't have leaders. Everyone just said 'fuck this' and went home and waited it out. Leadership was completely unnecessary, and in fact not useful because it can be compromised, targeted and destroyed. There was no 'movement' or anything official. A few rag-tag groups would pass the hat for a speaker system and that's pretty much it.
Bill, click on my icon. That was the day a couple thousand walked off the job and gave the premier the middle finger. He said the mandates would be in place for YEARS but we 'held the line' and he buckled in a few months. Like the US 3% we were the 3%. It's a highly skilled, highly roster and safety-driven profession that literally controls the fortune and politics of the nation. We could have lost G20 standing. Context here: https://vicparkpetition.substack.com/p/micro-donations-to-excessdeathsau
Basically, you have to find the cultural and economic weakness of the day in your local government area and go hard and DO NOT back down no matter what. It's really not complicated. Just do not comply.
I see you went ahead and published your paid and total numbers as well. Your total subscriber numbers (N = 1,600) is very impressive given the time you've been doing this.
You said your paid numbers are in the single digits. At 5 percent, this figure would be 80 paid subscribers. I think all of us freelance Substackers need to have at least 5 percent paid subscribers to make enough income to keep doing this work for a year or two or three.
I think the "elephant in the room" on Substack is that very few Substackers have reached this 5 percent metric. I'm at about 3.3 percent.
We need a "micro payment" option - even if that "gratuity" is only a nickel or a dime per story read. This is important because if Substack can't replace the captured mainstream press - and is not sustainable for 99 percent of Substack newsletter authors - the corrupt establishment will be far more likely to win this battle.
I think the corrupt establishment has decided they can "wait out" most Substack authors, who will give up writing full time at some point because none are making enough money to keep doing this. A few "stars" will continue but the "farm system" of important and brave investigative journalists will dry up.
From their perspective looking at us, its not about the numbers. They do not need 'us' and do not give a flying F about 'us.' Substack IS the establishment.
Very, very interesting. I wish I hadn't have missed most of these stories. Ominous , but plausible conjecture about the true colors of Substack.
That article about the epidemiologist who has 19,000 paid subscribers and 190,000 total subscribers was an eye-opener. She attributes much of her growth to Facebook, which didn't ban her ... but banned me.
I wonder how many Substack subscribers I would have had if my posts at that site had been allowed to maybe "go viral."
I'll send you that business idea I mentioned. It's might be even more important than I thought.
The story of America is littered with lies and utter bullshit to keep the public docile and manageable until they take near total control. The evil that created this nation is now destroying it with satanic degeneracy. They are taking down everything that holds society together.
I almost added this sentence: This notion that America is the "land of the free" and the "home of the brave" is probably "misinformation or "disinformation." It makes us all feel better to think this - more virtuous than other nations, for example. We're talking the talk, but we ain't walking the walk.
One purpose of this essay was to get more people to question whether some of our national propaganda might be "misinformation" - or not true. Maybe it was largely true at some point, but there's no way any fair-minded observer could conclude it's true today.
Thanks for this, Bill. Alas, much to agree with here. But there are some exceptions, there are some free and brave people-- there are more people who have been speaking out and pushing back than many people realize. I am continually coming upon extremely obscure (obscure by intention of course) videos of people speaking up and/ or protesting. I've been focusing on 2021 and 2022, but I imagine there's plenty to find (for those willing to really work at searching) from 2020 as well. Here's a recent transcription:
Live Medical Freedom Rally
Posted Nov 8, 2021, Front Capitol Steps, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
SENATOR DOUG MASTRIANO: Our next speaker is Brandon Atkins and he's from my district.
[cheers]
VOICE IN CROWD: Go Brandon!
SENATOR DOUG MASTRIANO: Come here, man. He's a good Brandon. [laughs] He's served for 18 years in the medical system, he's an emergency department technician and like you, he's finding himself at a, at a decision point that might cost him his his career, his job, his calling. And so Brandon, please enlighten us, brother. Thank you.
[cheers, applause]
20:20
BRANDON ATKINS: Good morning everyone. The saying goes, tough times create tough people and tough people create good times. Good times create weak people and weak people create tough times. It's never been more clear to me that right now we're in the tough times created by weak people. I'm disappointed in my country. I'm even more let down by Pennsylvania. This country was built on greatness. It was the land of the free and the home of the brave. Now it's the land of the sheeple and the home of the cowards.
Our government oversteps its bounds and we simply let it. We have a piece of paper called the Bill of Rights that claims we have unalienable rights. I've not seen many of these lately.
The First Amendment, the right to free speech. I've been placed in FaceBook jail as I'm sure many of you have.
VOICES FROM CROWD: Yeah!
BRANDON ATKINS: I've had an account for two whole minutes. My very name is listed as hate speech in some places right now.
[laughter]
The right to religion. Many of my colleagues and I are awaiting responses as to whether our religious exemptions have been approved by our employers.
The right to bear arms.
[cheers, applause]
The right to bear arms. This is a hot debate all on its own. Don't take them anywhere unless you're OK with piercing stares, and don't use them to protect yourself or you'll be punished for sure. I'm glad to see Governor Wolf* was forced to deem them essential throughout the shutdown.
The Fifth Amendment, the right to life, liberty and property, the right of due process. Due process is a requirement that legal matters be resolved according to established rules and principles
that individuals be treated fairly. Were you treated fairly during the shutdowns? Were your local businesses and restaurants treated fairly?
VOICES IN CROWD: No!
BRANDON ATKINSON: Were you essential enough? Were these shutdowns according to established rules or just whatever Governor Wolf thought of that day?
Your sixth amendment. Your right to a speedy trial. If you ask me, the right to a speedy trial is nothing more than a running joke to the courts around here. The right to a speedy trial was suspended by the courts in Pennsylvania because of covid. Sounds like the courts don't even see this as a right but simply more of a suggestion.
What about the Ninth Amendment? It states that the American people have more rights than the ones specifically listed in the Bill of Rights. How about the right to medical freedom? To pick and choose what goes into our bodies? The irony and hypocrisy of the prochoice people with their my body my choice and abortions, their banners and slogans now telling me I don't have the very same autonomy.
What about medical privacy rights? I thought there was something called HIPAA.**
WOMAN'S VOICE: Yeah!
BRANDON ATKINS: How all of a sudden does a burger joint or a music concert venue have any means to demand my medical history? I've never seen any herpes tests going to get into Coachella.
CROWD: [laughter]
BRANDON ATKINS: What about the right to not be part of an ongoing test group? To not be a lab rat? What about informed consent? What about the right to natural immunity? Are none of these essential enough?
There should never have been a question. Yet we're here today telling our lawmakers this. These bills should have never sat around for months. We're here today because our rights are at risk. Nothing that covid has brought sounds like freedom, it all sounds like tyranny.
These bills need to be passed and quickly. Because if we don't have rights in America then there's a big problem.
From the beginning of the pandemic your healthcare workers were the front line heroes. The government and corporations are now demanding that we comply. They're now threatening us with our jobs, our careers, our income, and our livelihood.
I work in the emergency room. I've seen a lot in my time. I'm directly responsible for helping save many lives long before covid and during this pandemic. I've done this for years and I've never sought fame for it. Now I seek help from my countrymen. I would be happy continue this career for a very long time, but I am not about to get this shot. So I'm at risk of being fired for noncompliance.
Who could I have saved with my experience and skills? Which of you won't I save after these mandates take effect? This is a problem that extends deep into the community and thousands of healthcare workers suddenly forced out of their roles is going to be catastrophic. It's an already struggling healthcare system. You can't stand there and tell me it's a good idea. This has to be put to stop and we're here today to bring it to a halt. Because I promise you, we're not the last ones to get these mandates. We need to pass these bills. We're simply being the first ones targeted. Thank you.
[applause, cheers]

Thanks for making this true point. There are many brave people who have been fighting in what I call the "underground" or "the resistance."
For the most part, these fighters have simply been ignored (which is by design) ... but thanks to people like yourself their stories are breaking through the barricades set up by the "gatekeepers of the news" and the Censorship Industrial Complex.
I like this article, because it speaks to the fact that we, the people, could (and should) have put a stop to this crap from the outset. We DO have the power! All we had to do was say NO to all of it: refuse the shots, refuse to mask, boycott any business requiring masks/shots, refuse to be jabbed for work, insist on the RIGHT to visit loved ones in hospitals/nursing homes, refuse to mask/jab their children for school attendance, refuse to have their kids ‘attend’ school via a computer screen at home, etc. (this would have succeeded, if everyone, rather than just a few outliers, would have done so). Actually, this is the ONLY way to stop this. I hope that folks all refuse to comply from now on. As for celebrities - I don’t care about their opinions, but lots of people seem to, so yeah, it’d be nice if some of them would stop being so cowardly and speak up, I’m not holding my breath, though. They’ve demonstrated their cowardice and corruption.
I'd also bet a gift card to Applebee's that Lee Greenwood is vaccinated. He's probably vaccinated because he has been told by concert promoters he is NOT free to perform at many venues unless he got this shot.

Great post. And, so true. Esp the first 3 sentences.
This is how normal everyday Germans who were just following orders executed Communists, Russian prisoners of war, gypsies and Jews during the last great war. The similarities are stark. Read Eric Metaxas' book " Letter to the American Church". It could happen in the USA.
"A man's enemies will be those of his own household (club, neighbor, coworker, manager, sports league, ad nauseum).
Very few of us could imagine this 5 years ago. Now we see.
We could imagine it, but only in 1939 Germany.
Well, it was common practice in the old Sovirt Bloc countries as well.
Signme: Exactly this! The one and only answer.
I know, I know... so few.

And James Woods and Kevin Sorbo..🙂
They all understand what's at stake, as does DJT. The true nature of the opposition, the lengths to which they will go, is obvious to them.
Oh please…let’s not start another discussion about politicians. That’s not the point! Don’t you see it’s just a distraction?
We were discussing the people who speak truth, instead of the prevailing narrative meant to deceive or subjugate people. We need those that make/enforce the laws to see also, and act on our behalf. And there are precious few. We need all we can get, AND we need to support them.

So, I take it you're not going after the MAGA market with your Substack marketing plan.
Unless I'm missing something, which I'm convinced I am, that was damn funny?
It doesn’t matter who is President! Can’t people see that by now? Just don’t comply.

They’re all complicit.
yes, indeed. Both are stand up guys.
If more of us were brave, we would be free.

Contrarians are not emotionally, and fear led but observe patterns and reason with logic and common sense. In other words, we believe what our eyes and ears perceive, and not the liars who deceive with contradictory, ridiculous and unsophisticated lies.
Contrarians are self-led and not sheep.
"As it turns out, it’s not Russia, Iran or China that’s taking away our freedoms, it’s our own
government."
My shocked face is shocked: 😐
Same here. I knew if God wanted me dead, nothing could save me, and if He wated me alive nothing can kill me, so I stood my ground.
sort of what I said to family members or work colleagues (who were already jabbed) when they asked - "why aren't you getting the shot Kev?" and rather than give the long list of reasons & risk an argument, I said "I'm not afraid of dying".
Nanc- Your paragraph that begins with ‘take a moment…’ says it all. That is all it takes to stop this!
I don't think "Lee Greenwood" and "free" go together any more:
https://www.foxnews.com/media/lee-greenwood-pulls-out-nra-convention-god-bless-usa
I'm at paid n = 17, sub n = 2,050
Have a look at what I just wrote about on the future of Substack. It's extremely grim (last section). https://vicparkpetition.substack.com/p/the-battlefield-a-body-of-work-and
From their perspective looking at us, its not about the numbers.
Troubling points you raised...all true.
Pow.

Amen, brother/sister.
https://theethicalskeptic.com/2023/07/09/of-authenticity/. great article by a person who thinks like us.
I enjoyed that. Thanks for the link.
